I stopped by to welcome you to a cup of coffee and confidence. I started my journey with not much confidence, but a lot of coffee. In college, we had what we called the SAC and coffee became my best friend. I shared many days in the SAC, so the story goes a little like this. I knew I wanted to make a difference in the world, but I didn't know in what capacity. Much like some, I went to school, met some cool people along the way and decided I wanted to be one of those cool people too. So I graduated again, that's another story and we will get there next time. But back to "cool people' and what it means to be a "cool" person? Well, the people I'm speaking of ... my Professors and Classmates. Going to college allowed me to interact with people who had the same passion for social change and community initiatives as I did. Kennesaw State University became the starting point for me to open my viewpoint about social injustice and how I can change my community. My professors allowed me to express myself, and to own my creativity. They constantly challenged my thoughts and provided opportunists for me to grow as an individual. Although the curriculum and professors provided these opportunists, the confidence would have to come from within me to embark on the world my desire to give back.
After much debate with my classmates on resources as the subject matters, I evolved and became the person I admired to be today. I am a Human Service Professional. I help those who seeking guidance, resources or a listening ear.
I'm that confident individual I admire from afar in the classrooms and halls of KSU and it came from within me. No matter how much you admire someone, your journey and your faith are all your own. The confidence to pursue your dreams will have to come from within. What I know for sure, mistakes are inevitable, you will feel like you are going the wrong way at times but no matter what, stick with it.
When the days become overwhelming, have a cup of coffee, or tea. I like these :
